There are dozens of great web browsers for Android, each offering a unique blend of features that can make surfing the web on your mobile device easier and faster. Deciding which is the best for you is often a matter of taste, but last week we asked you which browsers you thought were the best of the pack, and then we took a closer look at the five best Android browsers based on your nominations. Now we're back to highlight the overall winner.
Despite the fact that it's only available on devices running Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean, the majority of you voted Chrome as the best Android browser, with it bringing in just over 38% of the total vote.
The race for second was might tighter, with Dolphin Browser edging out the competition with just over 25% of the votes cast. Right behind it in third was Opera Mobile, bringing home close to 24% of the vote. In fourth place was Firefox, with over 10% of the vote, and bringing up the rear in last was Boat Browser, with 2% of the votes cast.
The Hive Five is based on reader nominations. As with most Hive Five posts, if your favorite was left out, it's not because we hate it—it's because it didn't get the nominations required in the call for contenders post to make the top five. We understand it's a bit of a popularity contest, but if you have a favorite, we want to hear about it. Have a suggestion for the Hive Five? Send us an email at [email protected]!
